Who is Jason Goroncy?
Jason was baptised in the Roman Catholic Church, trained with Anglicans and Baptists, was ordained as minister of Word and Sacrament with the Baptist Union of Victoria (Australia), and served churches of that Union and with the Uniting Church in Australia. Along the way, he worked in school education and as a lecturer/community worker on the Burma-Thai border. He currently teaches in the areas of theology, church history and pastoral care, and serves as Dean of Studies, at the Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Jason’s passions include books, art galleries, cooking, œnology, gardening, trekking, international human rights, fishing, blogging, and the Chelsea Football Club. His current research interests lie chiefly in twentieth-century Reformed theology, Victorian church history, and theology and the arts. Jason has published in a number of academic and more popular journals, and is currently working on a number of monographs. His doctoral thesis, written at the University of St Andrews, explored the notion of ‘hallowing’ in the soteriology of PT Forsyth. He sometimes dreams of being a postman on one of the Western Isles of Scotland.
